Chris Downey - First of all I would like to compliment you and your staff on a truly world class roping in Vegas. The roping itself, the cattle, the setting, the hospitality in the barns and hotel were all outstanding. First time I have been out there and was by far the best jackpot I have ever been too. My one and only complaint is the rotation fast time, and not being eligible if you make either short round. We are all putiing up our money and the fastest time should win. There were cases out there where a team made it back did not have any luck and a team that was slower than them won the fast time and $3,000.00 in the rotation. We do not want a 3-D barrel race scenario do we? Thank you for your consideration and I will see you in Vegas next year.

Thanks for coming. Yes we heard from several that prefered the rotation rounds. My problem is that in order to be able to expand the Consolation to four rounds, put multiple go round checks in the consolation, it was going to take more money. We bumped the consolation up to $165,000 (including rounds) and it was necessary to capture $60,000 from somewhere. Those rotation rounds were the only option. We had a tremendous number of ropers expressing support to the NEW consolation approach ( 10 to 1 vs rotation rounds). My personal feelings about go-rounds, the randomness of rounds at this level, is pretty obvious when you look at the qualification payoffs. You won't find rounds there either. But trying to keep my personal feelings out of it, I try to keep a perspective on rounds in relation to the entire payoff. At this point we dedicated $45,000 to the fast times, if we go back to rotation rounds it will take at least another $45,000, and doing that really will make us look like a 4-D.
