September 15th Deadline For Incompletes
Looks like another blockbuster Finale in the works. With 25 qualifiers left, the million dollar ropings are just around the corner. The #10 and #11 team ropings were filled by the end of June, which has happened now for the past couple of years. We are also completely sold out of stalls and have about 50 ropers on the wait list. We are now in the clean-up phase, correcting issues with about 5% of the teams currently entered. This is a hard process, as we attempt to get all the teams with incomplete business fixed without us either having to beg, or get testy. To give you an idea what we are facing, I have included a list of the incompletes that identify ropers without partners and ropers with partners who arent paid. Many of these will draw out or be drawn out, and that will have an impact on stalls, freeing up some for those on the wait list. We have roughly 110 incompletes in three divisions that have roughly 75 stalls blocked out. The incomplete entries holding stalls gives me a little heart burn since we have fully paid teams on the waiting list waiting for stalls.
Officially the count in the #10 at this point is 275 with 238 paid teams and 37 incomplete. The count in the #11 at this point is 288 with 231 paid teams and 57 incomplete. In addition to what we currently have, we have 25 qualifiers left. If the pattern from the past few years holds true, half of the incomplete teams (13,11,10) will eventually draw out, and we should end up with roughly 325 teams per roping. In the meantime, we have a small batch of fully paid teams on the waiting list (most are entered in other divisions) licking their chops to enter one more division. These guys are really easy for us since they already have hotel rooms, stalls, and partners, while their check is just laying here.
In an effort to give those who dont know their partner is not paid, we are giving #10 and #11 incomplete teams who are beyond their 30 day qualification window until September 15th to complete their entry. If you partner is not going to pay, you may find a new partner who is willing to pay by September 15th or draw out. If you have had a number change issue requiring the team to split and you are therefore looking for a new partner, let Connie know. She will consider the amount of time youve had or need. Otherwise we will begin returning those entries with only one side paid. We will accept the entry back, on a wait list basis, once the team is complete and both side are paid. The #13 entries will close by the end of September at which time we will follow the same process.
